Piercing

This name refers to two types of piercing: forehead and bridge of the nose. Where the third eye should be, scientists and magicians have not yet finally decided, so everyone places it where they like. Hence the discrepancies. Let's consider different locations of the Third Eye.

High vertical bridge

With a certain structure of the nose, brow ridges and forehead, a high vertical piercing of the bridge of the nose can give the impression of a "third eye". Let it be located a little low, but still "somewhere there." Earrings help to achieve this impression - bananas.

We use the space between the eyebrows

Another variation of the Third Eye piercing. The skin is pierced directly above the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows. Most often, anchor piercing is used, more precisely microdermal. The result is quite interesting, but you have to be prepared for the fact that the facial expression will change dramatically.

Bindi

The name is derived from associations with a "dot" on the forehead of Indian women. The puncture is made a little higher than the previous one, already on the forehead. Of the jewelry, only microdermals are suitable to maintain the style and authenticity of the modification.

Classic third eye piercing

Refers to plane punctures. Two holes are made directly above each other. The lower one, as a rule, is located in the Bindi location, and the upper one is slightly higher. The range of punctures depends on the structure of the forehead, its size and the amount of jewelry that you intend to wear. Suitable for installation:

  • banana;
  • bent rod;
  • bar.

Whether the facial expression changes as a result of the appearance of such a third eye depends entirely on the decoration and localization of the punctures.

Where did the Third Eye come from?

This trend was brought to Europe and America by hippies who fell in love with India. Of course, we are talking about the traditional Bindi. It was worn only by married women, it was considered a “drop of truth”, that is, in case of treason or other fault, the lady had to change the color, size, or something else inherent in this point. (In history, such facts are not recorded). The “decor” was applied strictly between the eyebrows, the Indians believed that it was there that the additional eye was located. The same place was associated with the Ajna chakra.

Over time, Bindi began to be applied higher, which is why for many it began to resemble a “star in the forehead”, but only in red. As for the jump of the point higher on the forehead, this is the result of primordial female cunning. The red circle between the eyebrows rarely suits anyone, and also gives a dull or angry look. But in the center of the forehead, such a “decor”, on the contrary, adds a certain charm and playfulness to the face.

Europeans met just the latest version of the Bindi, which was the origin of the Third Eye piercing.
